Mass deportations are underway, including of people with legal status and U.S. citizen family members. At what point does enforcement become a constitutional crisis? And what would a policy look like that’s both secure and humane — or do you think that’s possible? What principle should be non-negotiable?

The way we are treating people, putting them in detention centers with no due process, no family, no dignity. It’s horrifying. I am so embarrassed to be an American for this reason alone.
